Welcome to Something Gamey run by me, Roger Wink, with his wife Karen.
I’ve been a board game player most of my life (see the Introduction post for more specific information) with my interest reinvigorated over the past decade as the industry has hit a peak in innovation and popularity. I’ve actually been watching it grow since the mid-90’s with the breakthrough of Catan and, later, such gems as Carcassonne, Puerto Rico, Ticket to Ride, etc.
I have a background in writing, starting as a Communications major in college, through much technical and business writing during my career, and to my former major project, the music website VVN Music and the VVN Music Podcast.
Now, as I’m reaching the end of my career, I finally have time to do more gaming and, as an offshoot, subject all of you to my writing in reviews, comments on the community and industry and a wide variety of other subjects.
